A beautiful antique Edwardian era mourning ring

This sentimental piece has a central oval panel with a glazed hairwork compartment, enclosing a braid of light brown hair, the glazing is very scratched on the surface so it is hard to see without opening.

Surrounding the hair is a fine beaded frame of yellow gold, the glazing can be removed.

One of the things I love the most about this ring is the decorative engraved shoulders which taper down to the smooth gold band.

It is fully hallmarked with the highly sought after Chester Assay mark, 9ct gold, 1906, maker Walter and George Myers.

A charming antique mourning ring with lots of character, well loved and worn but with a lot still to give.

Condition:
Fair used condition overall, some age commensurate surface wear and overall patina, glazed panel with heavy scratches, could be replaced if desired, the ring has evidence of a previous resize, visible on the outer band.

UK/AU ring size P
US ring size 7.5
EU ring size 55.76
Total weight 2.52 grams
Approx 13mm length ring head and 2mm band width at the back.
