A charming large antique chatelaine.
Dating from the late 19th century it has undertones of Art Nouveau styling throughout.
It is made up from decorative pierced silver plated panels, attached to the reverse is the belt clip and the accessories are further suspended from the bottom.
The accessories include a scent bottle, pin cushion, thimble bucket and a scissors holder, they all have a low relief flora design and are suspended on chains and attached with silver plated dog clips.
The scissors do not come with the chatelaine and the thimble in the bucket is silver plated brass.
There is a faux coin at the top of the chatelaine with the head of minerva and the text minerva.
The scent bottle has a screw top lid and there is a pat no. There are various worldwide patents in the late 19th century with this number mostly relating to metallurgy and a process for coating metals.
Good condition overall, some wear to the plating, a safety pin holds the belt clasp but it fits on a belt nicely as can be seen, no scissors, some wear to the blue velvet on the pincushion, all commensurate with the age.
