A rich antique 18ct gold gents signet ring.

It has a chunky hexagonal ring face, engraved with fancy gothic script the initials CO.

Smooth buttery rich gold, fully hallmarked for 18ct gold, Birmingham Assay, makers mark worn, date letter partially worn but c1904.

Signet rings derive their name from the Latin for signature, they were popular throughout history in men's jewellery and were often carved with family crests or signatures and used as stamps or intaglios, later they remained popular as a fashion choice and they have remained a popular piece of mens jewellery since their creation.

Good used condition overall, some light surface wear and some surface scratches to the gold, commensurate with age, a little mis-shaping to the band and some wear to the band at the back.
