A very attractive and unusual French antique vesta case made from gilt metal with a hand painted porcelain plaque.
The porcelain plaque depicts a picture of an exotic lady and reads Alger, it has colourful decoration of plique a jour enamel in relief of moons, stars, circles and diamonds.
The box has a striker area to the front for striking a match, likely bought back from travels as a souvenir piece.
C1910's French make.
It has a spring hinged lid that holds it closed when travelling.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some age commensurate wear, surface marks and scratches.
