A very attractive gun metal cigarette case.

Edwardian era 1902 inscription inside reading From Col. Aikman, 1902.

Lt.-Col. Thomas Stokes George Hughes Robertson-Aikman was an avid curler and a Scots soldier who joined the 1st battalion, Royal Lanark Militia, in 1880, he also commanded the 4th battalion HLI 1900–12, and during World War I he commanded a district of the Royal Defence Corps.

This cigarette case was probably gifted to someone close to the Col. Perhaps in the 4th battalion HLI.

It has a black elastic strap on one side internally.

Lovely almost bark effect pattern to the exterior and rose gold toned push clips to open, it is a sprung cigarette case and snaps shut if it's not held open.

Good condition a couple of very small areas of rusting, please see photos.
