An incredibly beautiful and detailed antique Victorian era Meerschaum pipe bowl.

This is a real master carving.

The body of the pipe is carved as a running deer with a running dog beside it, presumably on a hunt.

There is a dog on either side but sadly one dog is missing his head, the rest of the carving however is in very good condition.

It has a flared and gadrooned bowl rim with a hexagonal metal collar.

The pipe has a foot to stabilise to the lower half and this has been carved as the head of a dog.

To each end there are elaborately carved and moulded swirls.

It is a nice size and very nicely carved with lots of realistic detailing, a lovely addition to the collection.

Comes with the original fitted case.

English make c1880's.

Condition:
Good used condition overall, signs of use, some scratches and nibbles to the mouthpiece, it has been smoked and charring is evident, one dog is missing a head.

Approx measurements :
3.5" in length
2.25" height.
