A very fine antique oak and sterling silver cigarette box.

A table top cigarette box, good quality oak with sterling silver corner mounts, each hallmarked individually.

To the centre of the lid is the word cigarettes also in silver and it has a small lock with a silver shield shaped surround.

It does not come with a key.

Hallmarked for Birmingham 1907 and the makers mark for The Boots Pure Drug Company who were at that time operating from Station Street in Nottingham where the company has its roots.

Boots, now known as Boots the chemist are still in the pharmacy business today.

Condition:
Very good used condition overall, very light surface wear, a little patina, no key, small mark on the wood on the inner lid.
