An attractive and rustic antique sewing box.
Victorian era it is made from veneered pine with a nice smooth finish.
Internally it has a tufted and padded blue satin to the lid for storing pins / needles and the same blue satin around the sides.
The base has no lining anymore, it would have also been a satin lining but this was probably worn and removed, it now has an unfinished / unlined base but could be recovered.
The box has a brass top handle and a lock but no key comes with it and the lock is not functional.
The external base is covered with a green felt but this is worn around the edges.
A beautiful storage box that could be used for sewing, crafts, keepsakes or documents.
Condition:
Fair used condition, still functional, some wear and slight chips to the veneer, a crack to the front veneer and back at the base, still nice and strong, general signs of use and ageing.
Approx measurements:
12" width
6" height
