An impeccable, scarce antique aide memoir.

A very fine piece, hailing from the early Victorian era, c1850s, it is made from wood and papier mache with a Vernis Martin finish.

There are leather fitments, including the small loops that hold the pencil and keep the piece closed.

Internally it is lined in a dark red velvet and it has the original porcelain writing tablet intact.

There are two different hand painted scenes, one of a church scene and the other of a man sitting upon a chair, a street scene.

The slim pencil is made from maple wood, this is a later replacement.

A very fine piece, in good condition for its age, many of these beautiful pieces did not survive well or even at all and this makes this all the more special.

Good used condition overall, signs of age and wear, some surface marks / scratches and a few small knocks, minor wear to the velvet, the porcelain has no damages, the piece has no signs of repair.
