A very attractive antique novelty brass cigar cutter modelled as a Marabou bird.

This is a scarce piece of tobacciana, well made and designed, attributed to German sculptor Ignatius Taschner.

The bird has a slim profile design and the beak lifts to action the cutter blade, the cigar is placed in the eye and the beak pushed down to cut.

There is a bowl below which the bird grasps to collect cut ends.

Numbered near to the cutter when lifting with an impressed number 895.

Condition:
Good used condition overall, very slight rusting on the blade, residue within the inner of the bowl from cleaning.
