An attractive and unusual antique 9ct gold and Amethyst seal ring.
It is a conversion piece, the beautiful central cushion cut Amethyst taking centre stage in the chased and engraved gold bezel setting.
A good sized stone with a light yet rich purple hue.
It has a smooth 9ct gold band with rosey tones.
It is marked on the inner band 9ct for 9ct gold.
The band is a replacement and the ring setting has been adapted from a seal fob, the Amethyst is large enough to be engraved if desired, the Amethyst and setting are slightly older than the band and are probably late Victorian era.
Amethyst is approx 3.5ct
Condition:
Fair used condition overall, surface wear commensurate with age, band is a replacement and the ring is a conversion piece, band with evidence of a previous resize.
