Steeped in symbolism and beauty this antique diamond Sickle and wheat brooch is such an interesting piece.

The sickle has many meanings throughout history and in Victorian jewellery.

The most common in this era were reaping the fruits of a good harvest, either literally, in prosperity or life, abundance and fortune and they were also seen in mourning jewellery, the soul harvested much like a crop and being sent up to heaven, there was also some connection to the grim reaper and cutting short life.

I believe this piece has positive symbolism and has its roots in reaping a bountiful harvest so perfect as a good luck charm for channelling abundance and prosperity.

It is crafted in 9ct gold with a sterling silver setting for the pretty twinkling rose cut diamonds.

The wheat is very detailed and look stunning when the diamonds twinkle in low light providing a delicate and mystical sparkle, the brooch has an estimated 0.55ct diamond weight.

A very fine piece this would make for a beautiful gift.
