There is nothing not to love about this stunning antique, Georgian era ouroboros gold quizzing glass pendant!

Usually worn around the neck on a ribbon or chain for ease of use, these beautiful decorative pieces really were a functional piece of jewellery.

This quizzing glass has a decorative engraved 15ct gold frame with a looped over handle that represents a coiled snake, the snake eating its own tail with the head at the top of the lense, the glass is clear and magnified for studying things up close.

Perfect for adding to your favourite antique chain or neck mess or wearing with a nice plain black ribbon.

Worn by both men and women of the period, a perfect example of beauty in a functional item, something that the Georgian and Victorian eras took great pleasure in producing.

This looks great on a wide black ribbon or on a gorgeous antique gold long chain, shown in the image on a gold long chain for reference, it does not come with a chain but there are chains available to purchase separately in the shop.

What makes this piece more special is that it is made from 15ct gold, this was not made a standard until the 1850s but you can find rarer Georgian unmarked pieces of this carat.
