A charming antique Georgian flat cut garnet mourning ring.
Originally converted from a brooch or lace pin this beautiful piece has been made into a ring and it really works!
The face has a halo of deep red flat cut garnets framing the central glazed hairwork panel.
The band is very chunky probably starting out life as a wedding band with a thick D profile.
It is stamped to the band 9ct, and the setting tests as 9ct.
A charming antique mourning ring with stacks of character.
Condition:
Fair used condition overall, some age commensurate surface wear and signs of use, one garnet with a crack and most with surface scratches / nibbles, some wear to the back of the face and the glazed panel.

Total weight 4.20 grams
Approx 17.5mm length ring head and 3.6mm band width and 1.5mm depth
