A beautiful antique Georgian era, late 18th century mourning ring.

It features a beautiful large oval face housing a lock of plaited dark blonde hair bordering a cobalt blue enamel plaque with applied rose gold lettering.

The slightly domed glazing encloses this and is original to the ring, the reverse of the face has a closed back setting and is engraved with an inscription for the departed; William Bridge, Ob 4th Mar 1797 Ae 81.

The ring wide gold shoulders, yellow gold with warm tones and a closed back setting.

It is Unmarked, tests 18ct gold, Georgian era c1790s.

It comes in an antique leather bound ring box.

A true beauty.

Condition:
Good used condition overall, some age commensurate surface wear morseo to the glazing, the glazing has lots of scratches and nicks, band has evidence of a previous resize, very slight mishaping to the band.
