A very pretty late Victorian, 15ct gold, opal and ruby shamrock or clover brooch.
A beautiful rich 15ct yellow gold double bar brooch with twist detailing.
The centre features a stunning shamrock or clover with three heart shaped opal cabochons making up the leaves and a ruby centre.
The opals on this piece have a fantastic play of colour and the ruby is a nice deep pinky red.
A very well made brooch with lots of fine detailing and whilst it is a dainty piece it certainly is mighty in design.
This brooch can be worn in many ways and is a pretty and versatile piece, it would look great adorning a lapel or cravat or even securing your favourite antique long chain.
The brooch is marked on the reverse 15ct, late Victorian era c1900
It comes in the original antique jewellery box so would make a lovely gift.
It has an old C type clasp and pin fastener with a safety chain.

0.43" height at the widest point
Weighs approx 3.73 grams
Condition:
Good used condition overall, signs of use and wear commensurate with age, the marks are a little rubbed, some light surface scratches to the gold.
