An attractive and unusual antique, Scottish agate and Silver sword and shield brooch.
A very unusual design with the shield,often found with just the sword minus the shield,the sword has a basket hilt set with red Jasper under the sterling silver cage.
The shield is round and features a number of different Agate sections, mustard and Montrose agates and red Jasper with a further Agate to the lower half of the sword, very detailed and a heavy brooch.
The brooch is crafted in cool sterling silver and it has an old c type clasp and pin fastener.
A particularly nice brooch, very versatile and can be worn in many ways with a lovely unique design.
Unmarked tests as sterling silver, c1890s.
Condition:
Fair used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, one red Jasper slice with heavy damage and chips, possibly a replacement, some glue residue visible.
Approx measurements:

1.10" length
