This antique Aesthetic Victorian silver pendant brooch is simply magical!
It is a very unique piece, oval in shape with a cut out design, the centre has an elongated oval featuring two storks within wading amongst foliage and bamboo.
This is encased in a vertical oval with sunrise designs, so much attention to detail has gone into this piece and there is beauty everywhere you look, this was very much the embodiment of the aesthetic era, art for arts sake.
A great thing about this piece is that along with being fully hallmarked it also bears a diamond registration mark, a hard to find and highly sought after mark on jewellery pieces.
You can wear this as both a pendant and a brooch making it very versatile.
Storks have many meanings and are a symbol of longevity in China, it is also thought to bring good luck and has connections with nature and reawakening.

It is fully hallmarked for sterling silver, also bearing a corresponding diamond registration mark, hallmarks for Birmingham Assay office, 1879, Maker EU, Victorian era.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, brooch clasp is a later replacement.
