A stunning antique, Victorian era Man in the Moon and crescent brooch.
A scarce antique piece, Man in the moon pieces are highly sought after and increasingly hard to come by.
This brooch features not one but two celestial wonders with the man in the moon nestled within a gorgeous paste set crescent.
The moon face is very well carved with a faux saphiret glass which has an iridescent backing to produce a colourful glow.
The crescent surrounds the moon and is set with sparkling white diamond paste with everything set into sterling silver.
A very beautiful antique brooch this would make for a lovely gift for someone special or as a treat for yourself.
It has an old pin and c type clasp fastener.
Unmarked, tests as sterling silver, mid Victorian era c1860s
Condition:
Good used condition overall, light surface wear commensurate with age, lots of aged patina.
