A mighty fine Blighty pendant!
This rare piece survived the war and lived another life, it is still going and the enamel is in great condition!
It is made from solid sterling silver with a cut out design that features the British isle in the centre, these were commonly gifted as sweetheart pendants and given as commemorative gifts to loved ones.
Steeped in history it has rich cobalt blue guilloche enamel around the outer border with the British isle in a rich yellow.
To the centre of the pendant there is the word Blighty commonly used in the era as an endearing term for Britain.
A wonderful collectable and wearable piece and very scarce so not one to miss out on.
I was very lucky to have stumbled upon this on a box of junk I purchased at a market in Angus Scotland which I found rather ironic as the image does cut off a portion of Scotland.
