An attractive vintage sterling silver and enamel fob pendant.

It is fairly large made from sterling silver and features an enamelled flag the St George Cross in a shield shape along with a small red sword.

Below this is a small enamelled open book.

The embossed writing surrounding the fob reads; City of London Eisteddfod and to the top of the fob there is a horn possibly depicting the horn of plenty which is traditionally presented in the ceremony and a bow.

A very interesting fob, Eisteddfod derives from the Welsh language and in medieval Wales it was a coming together or meeting of bards, minstrels and poets where they would perform music and poetry in competition and fun.

The reverse of the fob is engraved with a personal inscription; Elisabeth Kennedy 1st National Dancing

The fob has a very large silver plated jump ring attached not original to the piece and this would be best swapped out with a regular jump ring.

These fobs look great alone or as a collection on a nice chunky chain.
