This antique gold and blue enamel mourning locket is both attractive and unusual in its design, at first glance it doesn't present as a mourning piece at all and is subtle until reversed.
It is a 9ct gold fronted locket with a fully glazed reverse, the front has a central engine turned design with a Greek key design border highlighted in rich cobalt blue enamel.
The locket back houses a lock of tightly woven dark brown hair.
It has a jump ring attached, ready to be hung from your favourite chain or as part a necklace stack with other pendants and lockets.
A sweet and unusual piece of mourning jewellery.
Marks and era:
Unmarked, tests as 9ct gold fronted, early 20th century Edwardian era, c1900s.
Condition:
Fair used condition overall with signs of age and use, some minor surface wear and enamel loss.
