This handsome antique, Art Deco era 9ct gold and Sardonyx signet ring is a real treat.
It has an oval black Sardonyx bezel set to the front, this has a light white overlay over the front and has not been carved so could be personalised if desired.
It has chunky, decorative raised and engraved shoulders.
It has a smooth 9ct yellow gold band, the ring is yellow gold with rosey tones to it but is mostly yellow gold in colour.
Signet rings derive their name from the Latin for signature, they were popular throughout history in men's jewellery and were often carved with family crests or signatures and used as stamps or intaglios, later they remained popular as a fashion choice and they have remained a popular piece of mens jewellery since their creation.
Marks and era:
Art Deco era c1910s, stamped to the band 9ct, English make.

Good used condition overall, some surface wear and surface scratches commensurate with age.
