You can't go wrong with an antique silver book chain necklace, this is such a highly sought after design and an absolute must have for any antique jewellery lover.
This is a gorgeous piece with wide double link style, punched rectangular links joined with silver spacers.
It is an unusually long length for this type of chain with them usually coming in at max 16" so this is a really nice find, another thing that's extra special about this piece is that each of the links is stamped with the lion passant for sterling silver.
It fastens with a chunky antique silver spring ring fastener, perfect for attaching your favourite locket or pendant, shown in the photos with an antique silver locket, it does not come with a locket but we do have them available to purchase separately in the shop.
Marks and era:
Victorian era, c1880s, each link stamped with the lion passant for sterling silver and makers mark.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some patina and light surface wear.
Approx measurements:
0.70" link width
18.25" chain length
Weight approx 32.94 grams.
