A gorgeous antique Victorian era sterling silver chunky cuff bangle.
Floral engraved in the aesthetic manner with three swallows in flight, this is a beautifully decorated bangle, stacked with meaning and sentiment.
Swallows were adopted in Victorian jewellery with a romantic sentiment, often seen on sweetheart jewellery given as gifts of a promise to return, they symbolise being watched over and protected and safe passage or return home.
It has a personal inscription engraved on the inner in fancy script, From NL to PEB 1880.
It is an oval shaped bangle, wide and cunky, best for wrists around 6.75" to 7" looks great worn alone or with other bangles for a mega stacked look.
The bangle is marked with makers mark and stg for sterling silver.
Does not come in a box, box is for display only.
Condition:
Overall condition is good, used, a little aged patina, light surface wear and scratches commensurate with age and use, some small dings, clasp does not 'snap' closed but holds securely.
Approx measurements:
Outer circumference is 7.75" the bangle is approx 0.5" in height, best for wrists around 7" / 7.5"
