A demure little antique, Victorian, aesthetic era locket.
Small oval shaped locket with an applied silver floral design to the front with engraved highlights.
There is room inside for two tiny photographs, one of the original black and white portrait photographs enclosed within.
It has a smooth finished reverse, fully hallmarked for Chester assay office, 1898, makers mark present but worn.
It comes on a fine antique silver trace chain with a barrel clasp, unmarked tests as sterling silver, the two attached jump rings are a newer addition and are silver plated.
The locket is not glazed, the glazed panels have been replaced with clear plastic.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some age commensurate wear and signs of use, surface scratches and patina.
Approx measurements:
Locket - 1" length and 0.65" width
Chain - 15" length
Locket and chain collectively weigh approx 4.93 grams combined.
