A gorgeous antique, Victorian era sterling silver brooch with an applied yellow gold owl and an applied rose gold butterfly.
The brooch is designed and engraved in an aesthetic manner and has a beaded silver border.
It has an old C type clasp fastener and is unmarked but tests as sterling silver.
The aesthetic movement began in the late 19th century and was a movement that favoured beauty and championed art for arts sake.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear and patina, commensurate with age.
