A beautiful antique Georgian era Jet and hairwork mourning ring in 12ct gold.
A chunky design with decorative jet encrusted shoulders and an engraved band, the rich old yellow gold with a slightly rosey aged hue.
This gorgeous ring has a central rectangular glazed hairwork compartment, enclosing a fine braid of brown hair.
Surrounding the hairwork panel are rows of faceted round cut jet stones, the cut giving them some sparkle despite the rich black colour.
It is unmarked with a closed back setting, tests 12ct gold.
The reverse of the face is engraved in memory of my beloved husband.

English make, early 19th century, Georgian era.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some age commensurate surface wear and scratches, glazed panel exhibits scratches and the jet stones have wear and nibbles at the facet edges.
