A beautiful and rare antique snake and hammer brooch.

Victorian design at its very finest this brooch incorporates so many beautiful materials and so much symbolism in a small but mighty piece.

It features a snake coiled around a hammer with a star set swag which swings from the hammer this has a further loop so there was probably an additional drop but this is not present, could be used to add your own little charm or talisman.

The happy faced serpent has a diamond set head and Ruby eyes, the diamond approx 0.10ct weight, the end of the hammer has been crafted in sterling silver giving a realistic look.

The star swags is set with turquoise and seed pearl giving a lovely array of gems to this piece.

The brooch is Unmarked, tests as 9ct gold and silver.

A small but mighty statement brooch with so much character and style, this one really stands out from the crowd and is a rare find indeed, a powerful piece with lots of meaning.

Snakes symbolising everlasting love, wisdom and eternity, the hammer traditionally represents strength and endurance and Stars give guidance and direction to the wearer.

Perfect worn as a brooch or lapel pin.

It has an old C type clasp and pin fastener but this is loose when closed, may benefit from a safety chain.

Good used condition overall, surface wear commensurate with age and use, drop is missing from the star swag, one Ruby eye is very worn with deep surface wear and scratches, the pin holds loosely on the catch.
