A gorgeous antique, Victorian era banded agate seal pendant.
A large chunky faceted cut agate seal capped with a 9ct yellow gold cap with an integral bale to make a pendant, likely converted from a desk seal.
The agate on this piece is just beautiful with small clear and translucent areas, dark browns, black and white.
It comes on a later 9ct gold fine link chain.
The top cap of the seal is marked 9ct, some marks on the bale / jump ring but these are worn, chain hallmarked for 9ct gold on the clasp and jump ring.
This is a truly beautiful pendant and makes a stunning statement piece, could be added to other chains or with other pendants for an all out look.
Condition:
Very good overall with signs of age and use, some light surface wear to the gold.
Approx measurements:
1.75" length with bale / jump ring
0.75" width
0.75" length
17.5" chain length
17.02 grams weight
