An sweet antique Victorian black enamel mourning locket.
9ct yellow gold front and back locket with a black enamelled design to both the front and the back, there is a fine polka dot pattern picked out in gold and each side bears a gold Cross.
The cross itself is lightly bright cut engraved and sits at a diagonal angle.
The locket can hold a photograph or tiny keepsake but is not glazed, the inside is enamelled with a dark blue enamel which resembles the night sky.
No photos are enclosed currently so it is ready to house your own special picture.
The locket is Unmarked, gold components test as 9ct, front, back and bale, Late Victorian era c1890s
A beautiful and unique mourning piece.
Condition:
Fair used condition overall with signs of use and wear commensurate with age, lots of fine scratches to the enamel seen at angles mostly, no glazed covers.
