An impeccable antique, Mid Victorian diamond snake ring.

Coils and coils of rich buttery 18ct, antique yellow gold forming the body of this handsome chap, the head is modelled at the top of the ring with the snake having engraved eyes and mouth.

Set to the head there is a beautiful old mine cut diamond with the most gorgeous sparkling play of colour in the light, the diamond protruding slightly from the head is approx 0.15ct I-J in colour, SI clarity.

This is a substantial piece, the coiled body with a good heavy weight to it, exceptionally well made.

The snake ring was catapulted into popularity when Queen Victoria received a snake ring from her beloved Albert.

Fully hallmarked for London 1876, 18ct gold.

Condition:
Good used condition overall, evidence of a previous resize mostly seen on the inner band, light thinning to the band at the very top, minor surface wear, commensurate with age, diamond in good condition, strong in the setting.
