An attractive and unusual silver lucky horseshoe brooch, made in the Victorian era by Payton, Pepper and Co, Birmingham 1889.
This brooch has a curved horseshoe nail with a curb chain link horseshoe running over the nail.
A very artistic piece of jewellery made by a renowned maker of the era.
Horseshoes were a prominent feature in Victorian jewellery and they were considered a symbol of good fortune.
It has an old C type clasp fastener and is fully hallmarked.

Good used condition overall with lots of aged patina.
