A beautiful antique, Edwardian era shamrock brooch or pin.
This gorgeous piece is a bar type brooch with scrolling gold arches with silver mounts to highlight the stones.
To the centre there is a three leaved shamrock or clover crafted from three beautiful creamy pearls with an old cut diamond stalk.
The ends of the pin each adorned with a single old cut diamond and a pearl finial.
It has an old C type clasp and pin fastener and is Unmarked, tests as 9ct gold and silver.
Shamrock or clover pieces are highly sought after, steeped in both symbolism and beauty they give a timeless and classic look to any outfit.
Legend says that when St Patrick was trying to convert Ireland to Christianity he used a three leaved clover to depict The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit with each leaf, the three leaf shamrock is often related to Irish folklore or history and it can also represent Love, Faith and Hope.
