A gorgeous antique, Georgian era silver longuard chain or muff chain necklace.
This is a lovely long length chain at 62" and can be easily wrapped around three times.
It is made from elongated and squared belcher or rolo links, the chain is attached with a slim jump ring and this has a George III sixpence added.
This could easily have a dog clip or spring ring added for hanging your favourite silver pendants or lockets or a fob or pocket watch.
Unmarked it tests as sterling silver, Georgian era C1810s.
The sixpence is very worn and mishapen but the bust of King George and date are still visible.
Condition:
Fair used condition overall, some age commensurate wear and signs of use, some links with small dings, chain joined with a slim jump ring, coin with lots of wear.
Approx measurements:
Chain length 62"
Coin 0.75" x 0.75"
Links width approx 4.2mm.
Weighs approx 57 grams collectively
