There is something quite special about antique seal fobs, not only are they beautiful but they are also functional.
This fine Victorian intaglio seal fob is crafted in 9ct gold with an interesting liquid swirl design and it has traditional chased floral detailing around the base.
It is set with a rich red carnelian stone which has been carved with a Heraldic griffin.
The griffin symbolises strength, military connection and leadership.
A wonderful historic piece, it looks fantastic worn on an antique gold chain or attached to a chunky gold Albert chain.
Marks and era:
It is unmarked, tests as 9ct gold, Victorian era, c1870s
Condition:
Good used condition overall, signs of use and wear commensurate with age, some light surface wear.
