Antique sterling silver whistle pendant, Rope twist chain necklace

A lovely antique Victorian miniature silver whistle or dog whistle pendant.

A pretty engraved miniature silver whistle with flora and scrolls.

Said to have been hung from ladies necks whilst they were out walking their beloved dogs and these lovely little whistles helped to call back any runaway k9's.

The whistle is fully hallmarked and it has an integral bale for hanging from your favourite chain, it comes on a later vintage sterling silver rope twist chain necklace but looks great on a black velvet ribbon too!

Marks and era:
C1898 marks slightly rubbed, late Victorian era, chain later vintage c2000s

Condition:
Good used condition overall, some wear commensurate with age, the whistle has some small dents to the body and lots of aged patina, still whistles a light whistle

Chain 18"
Whistle 2" length with bale and 0.50 width

Weighs approx 7.58 grams collectively
