A very pretty late Victorian, 15ct gold diamond crescent brooch.
A beautiful curved rich gold moon star or gypsy set with a single sparkling old cut diamond.
Crescent moons were a popular motif in Victorian and later Edwardian jewellery, they are attributed to a number of meanings from feminine strength to changes or new beginnings / chapters.
This brooch can be worn in many ways and is a pretty and versatile piece.
The brooch is marked on the reverse 15ct, late Victorian era c1890s
It has an old C type clasp.

0.2" height at the widest point
Diamond approx 0.20ct
Weighs approx 1.88 grams
Condition:
Good used condition overall, signs of use and wear commensurate with age, the marks are a little rubbed, some light surface scratches to the gold.
