The most elaborate antique, Victorian era sterling silver collar necklace.
This is one of the most extravagant examples I have seen and there is so much detailing on this piece you are not sure where to look first.
It has two rows of double rolo links intercepted by star punched links all through the centre.
There is silver beading to the top edge of the chain and larger silver beading to the bottom edge, when turned around this is actually circular links each with a punched cross design so this magnificent piece can be worn both ways giving different looks.
Despite its very large size it is not too heavy when worn and remains comfortable.
A staple piece of Victorian jewellery and as wearable in this era as it was then.
It has a large antique silver spring ring fastener which can also be used to hang a locket or pendant.
Unmarked, tests as sterling silver, c1880s.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear and patina commensurate with age, a few small dings to some Links, one cross / bead with an old repair, not visible outwardly.
Approx measurements:
18.25" length including spring ring
