A pretty Victorian silver, paste and Rose gold brooch.
It is an ellipse shaped brooch with a beautiful rim of sparkling paste stones, the centre has an applied rose gold panel engraved with a foliate design.
The brooch has an old C type clasp and pin fastener.
The aesthetic movement began in the late 19th century and was a movement that favoured beauty and championed art for arts sake.
Marks and era:
Fully hallmarked on the reverse for sterling silver Chester Assay office 1897, makers mark AJ, Victorian era.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, wear and signs of use commensurate with age, some rubbing of the marks and general wear.
Approx measurements:
1.5" width
0.5" length
