A pretty antique, Victorian sterling silver bangle.
A beautiful engraved front that features swallows with foliage and ivy leaves, along with geometric patterns to each side, it has a smooth polished back.
A very sentimental piece, Swallows often representing safe travel or safe return from journeys and ivy symbolising the everlasting and eternal.
Highly detailed with elaborate engraving in a typical aesthetic manner it has a slide lock clasp with a safety chain.
It is an oval shaped bangle.
The bangle is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1886 makers mark partially worn.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, light surface wear commensurate with age, a few small dings to front and reverse, the hinge seems slightly tired but still holds well.
Approx measurements:
Outer circumference 7.25"
Width 0.55"
Best for wrists around 6.5" to 7"
