A stunning antique, Art Nouveau era garnet dropper brooch.
An elaborate design in sterling silver, the front set with rich red garnets and pyrite.
The main body of the brooch has a beautiful floral design with two stylised flower heads either side below is a larger set garnet and from there, there is a dropper section suspended which is also set with garnets and pyrite.
It is very well made and has such excellent attention to detail.
The pin and fastener has been replaced with a modern silver pin and safety fastener, solder can be seen where it has been replaced but it is very secure.
It is fairly heavy for a brooch at 16.39 grams, unmarked silver, tested, continental make.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, one garnet missing from the top of the dropper, a couple of garnets replaced with paste, lots of patina, replacement fastener.
Approx 2" length and 0.5" width, 0.5" depth, weight Approx 16.39 grams
