A beautiful, rare and unusual antique, Georgian era agate seal fob pendant.
The pendant is designed as a miniature desk type seal carved from a pale blue / grey agate, it has a small white metal collar which holds a jump ring to be worn as a pendant or an Albert fob.
The matrix is housed in a repousse 9ct gold mount and is carved from bloodstone.
The agate handle has been finely carved in a pistol grip design.
A beautiful and unique piece of jewellery, rich in history and functional too!
Early 19th century, unmarked, tests as 9ct gold on the base.
Condition:
Fair used condition overall, signs of use and wear commensurate with age, light wear to the stone, some wear to the jump ring piece, the seal has an extensive repair to the base with some glue residue visible and this has caused the agate to sit slightly skew.
Approx measurements:
1.25" height / length
0.3" width at the base
