A gorgeous antique 9ct gold and bloodstone signet or seal ring.

The ring is a conversion piece, both Edwardian era the bloodstone having once been part of a fob seal.

It has a beautiful decorative band with embossed and engraved shoulders that have a trefoil type pattern graduating down into a fine band.

Unmarked the ring tests as 9ct gold.

Signet rings derive their name from the Latin for signature, they were popular throughout history in men's jewellery and were often carved with family crests or signatures and used as stamps or intaglios, later they remained popular as a fashion choice and they have remained a popular piece of mens jewellery since their creation.

Condition:
Good used condition overall, some surface wear and surface scratches commensurate with age, a few tiny nibbles to the bloodstone facet edges, some thinning of the band at the back.
