A gorgeous, sweet antique, Victorian era 9ct gold locket pendant.

It is elaborately engraved front and back with a garter belt and buckle design and flower engraving to the reverse.

The buckle and belt had many meanings including holding one close, keeping a loved one near and the Order of the Garter.

The order of the garter is one of England's oldest orders of Knighthood and considered one of the most noble orders of chivalry.

It became a popular symbol in Victorian era jewellery for its connotations of love, treasuring love and sentiment.

Internally it has two compartments but no glazed covers, two vintage photographs enclosed, one of a lady and one of a man.

Victorian era C1890s, it is Unmarked, tests as 9ct gold.

The gold has both rosey and yellow gold tones highlighted within the fine engraving.

Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age and use, no glazed covers.

0.75" width
