This is an impeccable late 19th century Austro-Hungarian festoon or swag necklace, it has multiple rows of silver rolo link chain leading to the pendant centre and terminating in a single chain necklace.

It is grand and elaborate, a real showstopper piece.

The pendant is made from silver gilt and is a large oval pendant set with garnet and pearl with a beautiful intricate design.

This has a further floral drop set with a red paste and terminates with a lovely articulated pear cut garnet drop.

The stones are all closed back and have a lovely rich hue the large pear cut garnet measuring approx 10.4mm x 8.7mm with an estimated 1.3ct weight.

Marks and era:
Late 19th century, Victorian era, marked on the clasp with Austro-Hungarian marks for 800 silver, head of Diana.

Good used condition overall, aged patina to the silver, reverse of the pendant soft solder visible from manufacture, light surface wear.
