A very stylish antique, silver crescent brooch.
A beautiful curved moon set with pretty split pearls and reconstituted turquoise.
Crescent moons were a popular motif in Georgian and later jewellery, they are attributed to a number of meanings from feminine strength to changes or new chapters and can be found in symbolism dating back thousands of years.
This gorgeous piece is versatile and stylish and looks great adorning a lapel, fastening a scarf or even pinned in a hat.
It has an old C type clasp and pin fastener.

Marked sterling to the reverse, along with 935 and a makers mark, Edwardian era, c1900s
