The keeper ring is a classic and highly sought after ring style, like this antique Edwardian era 9ct rose gold keeper ring.

The face is made up from a scrolling knot with beading and this leads to the bifurcated shoulders and smooth gold band.

The ring is crafted in a rich 9ct rose gold with a warm inviting glow.

It would make a great stackable piece for your collection.

There are a number of stories behind the origins of the keeper ring stretching far back to the Georgian eras.

One was that they were worn as guard rings when jewels were worn over gloved hands, another and perhaps the most commonly known is that they are used to hold or keep more expensive rings in place by wearing them above.

The other and the most romantic version of the origin is that they were worn as pre marriage rings, basically saying that the intended wearer was a keeper.
