A beautiful antique Georgian era Mourning band ring.

A chunky wide band in rich 18ct yellow gold with a milled top and bottom border and three bands of black enamel.

One of the most charming features of this mourning band is its simplicity and discretion, rather than having the inscription engraved onto the outer band or within the black enamel the inscription has been engraved on the inner band.

This leaves a clean and subtle mourning look that makes the ring a very versatile piece to wear.

It has a wide band of slightly matte black enamel to the centre and two further slim bands near the edges.

The inside has an inscription for James Paton, OB 10 Nov 1811, ae 85.

The ring is fully hallmarked for 18ct gold London, 1812, maker T. M possibly Thomas Morley.

A charming and stylish antique mourning ring.

Condition:
Good used condition overall, some age commensurate surface wear and scratches, some crazing and scratches to the black enamel, one small chip to the enamel, general surface wear to the inner band.
