This antique late Victorian era mourning locket is simply beautiful, whether you are an avid mourning jewellery collector or new to Mourning pieces this one is a delight.
It is crafted in a rich 9ct yellow gold with engraved borders, the centre decorated with an inky black enamel and In Memory Of picked out in gold.
Interestingly this locket has an open back style, glazed, enclosing a carefully placed spray of hair secured with golden threads with a rich gold border.
It has a small jump ring attached ready for hanging from your favourite necklace or chain.
Marks and era:
Unmarked, tests as 9ct gold, early 20th century Victorian era, c1900.
Condition:
Good used condition overall with signs of age and use, some minor surface wear.
Approx measurements:
1.30" length including bale
0.80" width
5.53 grams weight
